1/ Crossings HVDC Converter Station
Description: AltaLink’s Crossings site is one of the two High‑Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) converter stations on the Western Alberta Transmission Line (WATL). It plays a critical role in Alberta’s bulk transmission system by converting power between AC and DC to allow long‑distance, controlled, and efficient energy transfer across the province.
2 Tours :  09:00 – 12:00 /  13:00 – 16:00
Capacity: 100 people per tour

2/ Calgary District Heating Facility
Description: Calgary District Heating supplies thermal energy for space heating and hot water to connected buildings from the central plant and distributes the energy through a network of underground, insulated pipes. By using high-efficiency industrial builders and a combined heat and power unit, they provide the City of Calgary with one of the most sustainable, resilient, and reliable heating alternatives.
4 Tours: 10:00 – 11:00 / 11:00 – 12:00 / 12:00 – 13:00 / 13:00 – 14:00
Capacity: 25 people per tour

3 / City of Calgary, Enmax Substation No.1 (GIS)
Description: Enmax Substation No. 1 is the newest gas insulated substation (GIS) in the city of Calgary, interconnecting several 138kV transmission lines and supplying Calgary downtown network. It includes 138kV Siemens GIS gear, Arc Rated 15kV switchgear, and 24 – 13.2V distribution feeders. This substation was initially energized in late 2025 with a full project completion expected in June 2026 and it employs the latest GIS technology.
2 Tours: 09:00 – 11:00 / 13:00 – 15:00
Capacity: 50 people per tour
